Jus got back from a relatively depressing NTU Interview for School of Communication studies.
450 ppl got shortlisted.. and only like 100 plus will get in. And i'll so NOT be that 100 plus. Lol.
It was terrible!! I dint expect the written test and Interview to be lk tt.
I totally flunked the mcq portion which tests general knowledge XP haven been reading newspapers see... heh.. need to start reading la... sian XP I noe my general knowledge really cmi... haha.. think i only got ONE qsn correct... that is : Who is the political leader that has been assasinated in the last 6 mts?
If you can't answer that qsn... u better start reading the newspapers too.. cos tt means ur general knowledge is worst than mine!! Which is an extreme cause for worry. HAHA
After MCQ portion they had a short passage abstracted from a newsletter/newspaper/mag or smth.. then u had to analyse it.. like what is its purpose.. who is it trying to appeal to.. is it credible.. why is it not.. What would you first write about the article.. n yadayada..
Managed to crap some rubbish out for that..
Then had the grp interview... luckily the interviewers dint throw gruelling current affairs or philosophical qsns at us *Phew* Mainly they asked why you want to get in ntu comms.. what you want to do.... what have you done to showcase ur abilities in tt area... blabla. My grp had 4 ppl... considering that out of 400plus ppl.. they will only take less than 200 ppl.. then out of 4 ppl they prob will accept 1.5 ppl or smth.... lol..
N my grp had this girl who was a Chief editor in her Jc..n she brought her sch's annual publication to show the interviewers... O.o
N another guy has his own blog which writes about media and music.. and he printed out the excerpts from his blog to show the interviewers... O.o...
N I'M JUS AN ORDINARY PERSON WITH NO AIM IN LIFE!! (T_T) Lol.. jus exaggerating... but seriously i dun even have any experience in Marketing or advertising which i told them i was interested in. So.. Aiya jus forget it mannn... I left NTU thinking it was a completely wrong choice to have ever stepped in there.
