I'm really restless and havent been in the mood for doing work... but still got project and assignment to complete before i can finally study for exams :((

Really been really restless.. and as usual the only thing that will make me sit down and do work is.. MUSICCC~~

doesnt music work wonders for u guys too?
Anw i dont have many songs in my computer(cos im lazy) and im sick of ipod songs too so i like to youtube around.

And i came across this version of Hallelujah which is quite nice! (should be right, got 21 million hits!!)

Cos im a techy noob and donno how to feature videos.. i can only post the link :X
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2NEU6Xf7lM

The last guy to sing is actually the World Idol! He looks lk hunchback of notre dame...Hahaha not insulting him la jus tt he realli look like.. lol..then when he sing his voice is lk omgggg..... damn nice. Hahahah his name is kurt nielsen

Although ive heard the song alot of times alr(first time i heard was cos of shrek? lol) i never really wondered what the song meant until now!!
Actually i got curious about the lyrics because i thought i heard the guy sing 'she broke your throat, she cut your hair' and was wondering why the lyrics are so sadistic...

Well actually it's 'she broke your throne she cut your hair' hahaha

If u google the lyrics.. it probably wont make much sense.. I wiki-ed about the song and very interestingly.. the song actually has references to King David and Samson, who in the bible fell to sin because of women.

The lyrics are very interesting and powerful:

'you saw her bathing on the roof
her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
she tied you to her kitchen chair she broke your throne and she cut your hair
and from your lips she drew the hallelujah'

For those of you who donno the bible stories.. King david saw bathsheba bathing on the roof and because of his lust he murdered her husband to get her and was punished by God after that.. and then Samson married Delilah who goaded him into telling him the secret to his strength, which was his hair, and then betrayed him. So that explains the lyrics 'she broke your throne and she cut your hair'

(dont get the tied you to her kitchen chair part tho.. )

Now then I really know how to appreciate this song for all the subtle references and how interesting and powerful this song really is.. can feel the guy's sorrow and broken spirit/heart..
Kudos to composer Leonard Cohen for such an amazing piece

'.. it's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah'
